ILTA is pleased to announce we will be welcoming Admiral William H. McRaven, USN (Ret.) as the opening keynote for our Annual Operating Conference, to be held October 4-5 at the Marriott Marquis in Houston, Texas. Admiral McRaven is a retired U.S. Navy four-star admiral and former chancellor of the University of Texas System. In his presentation, Admiral McRaven will share personal insights into leadership and risk management that you will not want to miss.
McRaven’s expertise on these topics comes from his time commanding special operations forces at every level, eventually taking charge of the U.S. Special Operations Command. A recognized national authority on U.S. foreign policy, McRaven has advised Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, and other U.S. leaders on defense issues. McRaven has been recognized for his leadership many times, including in 2011, when he was the first runner-up for TIME magazine’s “Person of the Year.” McRaven’s book, Make Your Bed: Little Things That Can Change Your Life and Maybe the World, based on his 2014 University of Texas commencement speech, has received worldwide attention.
