At its July 30 Board meeting in Portland, Maine, the ILTA Board of Directors voted to approve a set of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Principles. The adoption of the principles follows a seven-month process that was first directed by the Board in November 2020. ILTA staff is grateful for the input and engagement of the membership in developing the principles, including discussion at the EHSS meetings in January, wide participation on surveys and member town halls and specific language edits sent by many individuals from member companies. “Our ILTA ESG principles are truly the result of contributions from across our ILTA community. The process showed how much ESG and corporate sustainability is on the minds of terminal industry professionals, as well as the depth of expertise many of these professionals have in addressing these topics,” noted ILTA President Kathryn Clay. ILTA will be launching a communications effort to highlight the association’s new ESG document. The principles can be found on the ILTA website here.
