Furthermore, the IRS reported 2,204 confirmed falsified tax returns that involved identity theft. The IRS and its partners have founded the Security Summit to help combat this fraud, and cybersecurity professionals are also advising taxpayers of several prevalent scams to be on the lookout for this year.
