In a recent report from Shred-It, 47 percent of business leaders interviewed admitted that human error led to compromised cybersecurity at the office. These errors included misplacing sensitive documents or losing mobile devices containing private information. Additionally, over a quarter of those interviewed for the study said that they do not take adequate security safety precautions. Common infractions included leaving desktop computers unlocked, and writing down sensitive information on paper that was left out in plain sight.
