ISEE Seeks Consultant to Develop Education Programs

The Role of the ISEE Education Program Consultant:

The work of ISEE's Committees and Sections result in substantial information of value to the membership.  ISEE recognizes the need of an external consultant to help turn this content into valuable products, programs, and services for the ISEE membership and stakeholders.

This is an outside, part-time, contract position.  The ideal candidate should have substantial knowledge of the ISEE, the industry, and experience sitting on ISEE Committees, Sections, and/or Board. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Creating new educational and training programs of value to the membership and stakeholders.
  • Conducting an inventory assessment of current products and services, including the ISEE’s online program and ISEE Certificate Program and books to gauge relevance to our community.
  • Working with ISEE Committees, Sections, and Chapters to identify new program and partnership opportunities.
  • Managing ISEE’s Call for Abstracts and Papers of the ISEE Annual Conference including establishment of timelines, reviewer recruitment, author communication and coordination of speakers at the conference
  • Act as ISEE Liaison to ISEE Committees and Sections to ensure meeting minutes are taken and communicated, and that actions and milestones are developed and completed as directed by the Committee and Section chairs.
  • Identify domestic and international market needs for ISEE existing or newly developed products, programs, and services.

Preferred Background:

  • Experience in the explosives industry working with all levels of personnel including drillers, blasters, engineers, mine and project managers, project directors, regulators, and researchers.
  • Member of the ISEE and strong participation in ISEE Committees and Sections, and/or the Board of Directors.
  • Ability to work with volunteers to identify opportunities to turn the ISEE’s collective experience and knowledge into an array of products, programs, and services for the membership.
  • Action-oriented, ability to set goals, timelines, and measure progress towards completion.
  • Able to connect organizational strategic plans to program deliverables.
  • Ability to serve as committee liaison for Committees and Sections including Blaster’s Training & Education Subcommittee, Drilling Section, Standards Subcommittee, and Vibration Section.
  • Must be able to work with Microsoft Office, Zoom and other applications.
  • Strong relationship builder.

This is an external consulting/contract position reporting directly to the Executive Director and collaborates closely with volunteers and staff to ensure the success of the overall association.  Travel to ISEE’s Annual Conference, Mid-Year Board Retreat are required.  Travel to ISEE Chapter Conferences is highly recommended.

Estimated Time Commitment:

ISEE is looking for an individual who has up to 1,000 hours per calendar year available, or approximately 80 hours per month.  Heavier hours can be expected between the months of September through February due to Conference preparation and lighter hours between March and August.
