ISEE Membership Director Sara Bustard, CAE Sara has 15 years of experience working for associations. She has worked with memberships at small local non-profits, state associations, and international societies. She has successfully worked on member recruitment and retention, creating member programs, chapter relations, student member engagement, maintaining relationships, and more. She earned her CAE in 2022. Sara was a member of ASAE's Membership Professionals Advisory Council and chaired the PASAE (Pennsylvania ASAE) Membership Committee both for three years. She was also selected to participate in the 2019 NextGen Association Summit. She now sits on the PASAE Foundation Board of Directors.
ISEE Membership Coordinator Adrian Morton Adrian resides in Alexandria, VA. and has had varying IT sales and account management roles since 2014. Adrian completed his bachelor's degree in 2014 with a focus in HR Management and Entrepreneurship. In his free time, Adrian loves drawing, running, tennis, hiking, and playing basketball.

During the IME Spring Meeting, ISEE's Executive Director Steve Shivak had the opportunity to speak with ATF Director Steven Dettelbach regarding ISEE's support of providing proposed updates to the ATF Orange Book.

Paul Sterk, a 36 year member of ISEE, was awarded the Distinguished Service Award at the 49th Annual ISEE Conference in San Antonio, TX, in 2023.
"It means a whole lot" Sterk said of receiving the award. "People recognize all the work you've done and it's a recognition of all that work, it was very humbling. You don't expect to get something that prestigious."....

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Department of Labor today announced that its Mine Safety and Health Administration is making $10.5 million grant funding available to help provide mine safety training for the nation’s miners.
MSHA will award these grants as part of its fiscal year 2023 State Grants program to fund the delivery of federally mandated training and re-training for miners working at surface and underground coal and metal and nonmetal mines.
State, tribal, and territorial governments are eligible recipients in the agency’s State Grants Program. MSHA may fund up to 80 percent of the program costs under a state grant, with the recipient required to provide at least 20 percent of the total program costs.

The Tricia Appleton Award is given annually to companies with the highest safety rating in the commercial explosives industry.
WASHINGTON – The Institute of Makers of Explosives (IME) today announced at its 2023 Spring Meeting that four companies were honored with the prestigious Tricia Appleton Award for having the best overall safety record for 2.
Based on the lowest total recordable incident rate (TRIR) reported to the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), the award has been given annually to the IME member companies with the best safety records.
“It’s a privilege to congratulate these four companies for creating and adhering to a strong safety culture in the commercial explosives industry,” said IME President Clark Mica. “Each year, these awards become more competitive and highlight the exemplary efforts our companies are making to ensure a safe working environment for the dedicated men and women in our industry’s workforce.”
The four companies receiving the Tricia Appleton Award include Enaex; Senex Explosives Inc.; Vets Explosives Inc.; and Teledyne RISI, Inc.
