By the close of the exhibition, Farnborough International Airshow organizers have confirmed the total sum of orders and commitments at the airshow has reached $201 billion, beating all previous records set for the show. The figure represents an extremely positive note for the global aerospace industry.

ISTAT set its own records with more than 1,200 visitors at the ISTAT Chalet, which was open to members and business guests 14-19 July as a meeting space and location to visit with other ISTAT members. The exclusive location provided easy access to the static air exhibits as well as fantastic views of the daily airshow. As in previous years, members relished the opportunity to cool off from the heat in a space dedicated to them. Members and their guests also gathered at the ISTAT Reception on Monday evening at the iconic Grosvenor House, A JW Marriot Hotel to celebrate the start of the airshow. With reception attendance totaling more than 1,000, it's no doubt this was the place to be to kick off the week-long event.

A group of special guests visited the chalet on Sunday, 20 July. Thanks to the generous work done by Doug Runte and the ISTAT staff, a trip to the ISTAT Chalet became a welcome respite for 32 children from the Shooting Star CHASE organization. ISTAT members created goodie bags to share with the children and airshow pilots dropped in to bring their stories of adventure and inspiration for this young crowd and their families.

According to statistics from Farnborough International Ltd (FIL), across the course of the five days, orders and commitments for civil jet engines reached 1,600 units, with a total value or $34.5 billion and over 1,100 aircraft totaling $152 billion, a further $14.5 billion was also achieved in service contracts all reflecting the buoyancy of the aerospace industry internationally and in the UK. Speaking about these figures, Shaun Ormrod, chief executive for FIL said, "We are extremely pleased by these numbers, there is already an order backlog and these additional orders will keep manufacturers in business and people employed for some years to come. Great news for UK business and the economy."
