In an effort to enhance ISTAT's networking offerings and increase the overall value of membership, ISTAT provided a private business Chalet for its members at the 2015 International Paris Air Show. The Chalet’s ideal location provided spectacular views of the flying displays and a cool respite for the more than 1,500 guests who visited over six days.
On Monday, 15 June, nearly 1,200 ISTAT members and guests made their way to the Palais Brongniart in Paris’s "Vivienne" district for the ISTAT Reception at International Paris Air Show. The venue provided an elegant and historic backdrop for an evening of networking and celebration.

To celebrate the closure of the 2015 Paris International Airshow at Le Bourget, ISTAT welcomed 18 children along with their families from the Robert-Debre’ Children’s Hospital to an exclusive experience at the ISTAT Chalet on Sunday, 21 June. Behind-the-scenes arrangements were made to bring in special guests to add even more excitement for the children and their families.

Saudi Arabian Airlines will take delivery of 50 aircraft from Airbus in the largest aviation deal to be secured via Islamic financing, as the European planemaker tries to gain an edge over rival Boeing in the key Gulf aviation market.

The International Bureau of Aviation (IBA) has announced a new investor in the business following the retirement of Laurie Hatcher, Founder and Chairman of the Company. The new IBA shareholder, Hockley Investments Limited, will be a long-term partner supporting future growth and development of the business. IBA proudly retains their full independence from all manufacturers, lessors, banks and airlines, ensuring that their specialist consulting services continue to be provided without any conflict of interests.

GA Telesis, LLC announced that Jason Reed has been appointed president of their newly rebranded component sales division, GA Telesis Component Solutions Group. Reed joins GA Telesis from Airbus Americas/Satair Group, where he served as vice president and head of operations for all material and logistical program activities in both the North American and Latin American regions.

On 1 July, Dennis A. Muilenburg, 51, will take over as CEO of $91 billion (revenues) aerospace giant Boeing Co., the company recently announced. An aeronautical engineer, he started at Boeing 30 years ago as an intern. After climbing up the corporate ladder and heading the defense and space businesses, he has served as chief operating officer and president since 2013, and was widely seen as the heir apparent.

GE Capital Aviation Services Limited (GECAS), the commercial aircraft leasing arm of GE, announced the appointment of Todd Freeman as senior vice president and regional manager for the Middle East, Africa and Russia/CIS effective 1 June. He will be based in Dubai and oversee five regional sales offices that serve more than 50 airline customers and manage over 300 leased aircraft.

Precision Aircraft Solutions has been contracted to begin a 757 passenger-to-freighter conversion for San Francisco-based Vx Capital Partners. The privately owned leasing company, which specializes in commercial aircraft and engines, tapped Precision earlier this month to assist with capitalizing on the thriving market.

Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. is pleased to announce that GE Capital Aviation Services will be the launch customer for the AEI B737-800SF program. GECAS plans to convert up to 20 of its Boeing 737-800NG passenger aircraft to freighters.

As organizations run leaner and flatter, your ability to move up can stall much earlier in your career because, simply put, there’s no place to go. This is true whether you work for a corporation, nonprofit, or public agency. So what should you do when you reach that plateau and you’re only midway through your career? There are at least four proven approaches, all of which require that you ask what energizes you and what saps your motivation.

It’s a stereotype that men would rather be lost than stop and get directions, but it turns out asking for help carries a psychological penalty for guys. A study from researchers at Duke University, the University of San Diego, and the University of Pittsburgh found that male leaders who ask for help are perceived as being less competent. When female leaders solicit help, however, the negative image didn’t apply. Whether you’re male or female, the question shouldn’t be if you should ask for help. It should be, how do you ask for help?
