It is with great sadness that we report that Gilbert Speed, 81, founder of SpeedNews, passed away on 27 Jan. 2014. Speed was a long-time supporting member of ISTAT from the start, and was the recipient of the 2010 ISTAT Award. During his more than 60-year tenure in the aviation industry, he became a well-respected industry partner and touched many lives. The ISTAT Foundation has created the Gilbert W. Speed Memorial Scholarship fund in an effort to recognize the many industry contributions and friendships Speed has made during his career.

ISTAT Americas is the premier event to hear from the industry's foremost speakers. With session topics including manufacturer updates, a lessor's CEO panel, an aircraft value discussion, helicopter financing trends and more, attendees will gain valuable insight on important aviation issues all while networking with like-minded individuals.
|
Registration opens Monday, 24 Feb. for ISTAT Asia. This fast-growing conference has exceeded expectations each year. A record number of attendees participated in the 2013 event, which was one of the largest aviation conferences to be held in the region to date. The 2014 event will be held 4-6 May 2014 at the Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong. More details, including speakers, housing and schedule of events will be posted soon.

ISTAT hosts three international events each year, as well as an airshow reception and chalet, which assembles industry executives representing manufacturers, appraisers, financiers, lessors, airline personnel, fleet managers and remarketers.
