Julian Balaam, chair of the Humanitarian Committee of the ISTAT Foundation, received the attached letter from the UK-based charity, Aviation Without Borders, following the recent awarding of the ISTAT Foundation humanitarian grant of $10,000 to the UK organization. The letter is a heartfelt thank you to the boards of both ISTAT and the ISTAT Foundation for the financial support that has been provided and which has made possible the project to send more than three tons of donated toys to Syrian children living in difficult conditions in Jordanian refugee camps.

Hoi Yiu Chan, an ISTAT Foundation Scholarship recipient and intern at GECAS, is organizing the Careers and Information Day, an event hosted by The University of New South Wales (UNSW) Aviation Society. This event is an opportunity for students to interact with representatives from aviation-related firms (regional, national, and international) and to inquire about what career pathways the industry has to offer. The event will take place on September 8th, from 2-5 pm, at UNSW.

Our intent is that the ISTAT Foundation Scholarship Program continues to drive recipients to make a positive impact on the industry, as demonstrated by Hoi.
