Jetrader Magazine
In this Aviation History article, Jack Feir, author and administrative director of the ISTAT Appraisers' Program, recounts the story of the Bell X-1 Aircraft. "Most ISTAT people know a bit about the X-1. It was the rocket ship nicknamed Glamorous Glennis that Chuck Yeager flew to fame and glory, being the first to fly faster than the speed of sound (Mach 1.0). But what is less widely known is that there were actually six—or maybe seven—X-1s, depending on how you count them." Share this article on Twitter. Professional Development
ForbesToday, on average, people stay at their jobs for just over four years. For millennials, it’s even less, at just under three years. Compare these numbers to the long-lasting careers of previous generations—picture the GM and IBM lifers behind steel tanker desks—and it’s clear that today’s company leaders face a very different landscape in their goal to find and retain the best people.

Strategy + BusinessYou know the company, in part because its name is synonymous with high-profile failure. Eager to ride the wave of a hot new technology, it participated in a controversial government-funding program, staged a flashy initial public offering, and plowed hundreds of millions of dollars into research and new factories that would create jobs, reinvent an ailing domestic industry, and help the environment.
