The application for the 2018 ISTAT U 2.0 program (online version) is available to qualified, current students at universities around the world. ISTAT U is a specially designed one-year (six credit hour or global equivalent) aviation finance and leasing program. Admission requirements and application instructions are available at www.istat.org/istatu. The deadline for students to apply for enrollment is Friday, 31 August 2018.

The Foundation provides humanitarian grants to charities globally that are designed to help save lives, promote human welfare and alleviate suffering by way of air transportation. The EFW Airbus Freighter Conversion Tour will be held on Sunday, 23
September and will count towards the ISTAT Appraisers’ Program continuing
education requirement. The event kicks off at 8:30 at the Prague Hilton and
returns at 14:45 Transportation and meals will be provided. Please contact

Appraiser exams are starting a day earlier than in the past to allow exam takers to join the EFW tour. Appraiser exams for Appraiser Candidates will be held the afternoon of Friday, 21 September and all day 22 September.
Appraisers interested in sitting for the Senior Appraiser exam in Prague on the afternoon of Saturday, 22 September should contact Jeff Straebler at jstraebler@istat.org as soon as possible. |

As reported by The International Air Transport Association (IATA), the month of May yielded 6.1% growth in passenger air traffic, when compared the same month in the previous year. This figure represents a slight uptick in growth over April 2017/April 2018's 6.0% growth figure.

According to figures released by the two manufacturers for activity in June, Airbus reported sales of approximately $20.6 billion (U.S.) for 100 commercial aircraft, while Boeing reported sales of approximately $32.6 billion (U.S.) for 232 commercial aircraft.
