The 2014 NACAS Institute for Managers was a success.
With 18 speakers, 31 attendees, 12 sessions (including six breakout sessions), and a warm Texas welcome from the Dallas County Community College, everyone agreed that this year's IFM was fantastic! The event included group case studies based on the information that attendees learned and an eye-opening tour of a campus in a low-income community that was once plagued by gang-related activity and crime. The community college was actually built on territory that was in the center of two warring gangs. A major highlight of IFM was being graced by the presence of Dr. Wright Lassiter, Jr. He offered some entertaining, engaging, and most of all, encouraging words of wisdom. In the end, there were numerous friendships made, plenty of business card swapped, loads of Facebook connections, and of course an abundance of roaring laughter. The 2014 NACAS Institute for Managers was the definition of "The Connections That Count."
