NC State goes red for women
On Feb. 7, University Dining at NC State led a campaign in partnership with the American Heart Association in order to raise awareness about heart disease. "Go Red for Women" was a campus-wide effort to encourage heart-healthy decisions, provide information on heart disease and to further promote the NC State "Wear Red Friday" tradition.

University Dining highlighted healthy menu items to guests in the main dining halls and added an array of "red" food items to the menu throughout dining venues. The hydration stations featured cranberry-infused water, the campus dairy produced a pink Howling Cow® ice cream flavor, the campus bakery branded red velvet cupcakes to the campaign, and students provided an information table at the heart of central campus handing out red apples and details on heart-healthy lifestyles.

Additionally, University Recreation partnered by distributing prizes to those exercising in red clothing. The program was well-received throughout campus, as the community showed its Wolfpack pride while also collaborating for a greater cause.
