We asked William to provide us with a summary of his professional background. This is what he said:
"Despite being born and raised in Maryland, I attended the University of Mary Washington and graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Minor in Business Administration. During my last two years of school, I worked with the campus' food service team and had a great experience learning just how invaluable these auxiliary services are for the campus environment and how hard all levels of staff work to keep the student experience as positive as possible. By the time I was nearing the end of my coursework, I was already enrolled in an internship with a small business in the area that focused on Knowledge Management and I was fortunate enough to begin working full-time soon after my graduation. The idea of information being stored, transferred, and ultimately lost in some cases was and still is fascinating to me, which is part of the appeal of working at NACAS. Collectively, our members have such a comprehensive mastery of so many different areas of auxiliary service and it's phenomenal to see the exchange of ideas and information through our framework. Not only does this better prepare members of their own institutions to pass down their expertise when they move positions or turn to retirement, but it allows knowledge gaps to be effortlessly filled in mutually beneficial relationships as individuals are brought together through conferences, round tables, and more. It's been an incredible experience working at NACAS so far, with the internal team and our volunteers' priceless assistance, and I welcome the chance to add my own knowledge to the institution and gain so much more!"
