Working in Auxiliary Services at Auburn University at Montgomery has made a tremendous impact on not only my college career, but my life and the lives of my three children as well. When I began attending AUM in the summer of 2011 as a Pre-Nursing major, I never imagined my role as a non-traditional student growing beyond anything other than attending classes, submitting assignments, studying and taking exams every semester until I would hear my name called on the day my diploma reached my hands in an overcrowded hall where no one would know me at all. I worked part time off campus and attended classes full time. When I wasn’t doing either of these, I was at home taking care of my children. Clearly, I had no time for a traditional college experience. With my work load, I was certain I would be nothing more than just another student, or so I thought. Read more
