Spring has finally sprung, and with it comes the beauty of fresh new beginnings. New fragrances, new colorful flowers, new green grass and new opportunities to bolster our futures. There also comes new work to look forward to. With this newness theme, I’d like to introduce you to our new Chapter Administrator Aesha Beattle, CMP.
She is a graduate from Northeastern State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Meetings and Destination Management. Her first position out of college, 16 years ago, was as the Director of Meetings of the U.S. Junior Chamber. Since then she has excelled in several positions, as group sales manager with different hotels, including Starwood Hotels and Resorts and the Intercontinental Kansas City. Most recently she has been with an association management company as the Meeting Manager for four different not-for-profit associations and has planned and executed all their national conferences. She is married with two children, and we all welcome her back to KCMPI and look forward to working with her on all the day-to-day operations that go with our chapter.
We are finishing off the 2014-2015 year, looking forward to the 5K, the Annual Retreat and the Awards Banquet coming up in June. As you see current board members, please stop long enough to give them a pat on the back – they have worked very hard to produce a successful year for KCMPI – and then shake hands with the new board members that will be taking over on July 1. They have a lot to learn, but they have the energy to be a great board, and I look forward to working with them soon. One last item: If you liked something we did this year, let us know, but maybe even more important is if you didn't like something the chapter did, let me know! This is your chapter, and we want to do what you like and enjoy and that you can learn from. Help us make your chapter better.
Have a great spring!
Phil Allemang, CAS
