Human BEing

As a planner, I sometimes find it difficult to live in the moment. I’m constantly thinking down the road to the next event, trip or project. That’s what I do for a living – I work to make sure that future events go well. Trying to fix potential problems before they arise. So this quote by Albert Einstein struck me.
"Life is a preparation for the future; and the best preparation for the future is to live as if there were none." – Albert Einstein
So how exactly does one do that in our field of work? How do we prepare for future events, but live in the moment? I’d have to say one of the favorite things about my job is that moment at the end of an event when you see all the hard work has paid off. But I have to admit I’m not necessarily enjoying all the work that leads up to that moment. And, I’m certainly not guaranteed to ever see that moment – so I better enjoy all that hard work and what I have right now.
My quest for 2016, or call it a resolution if you like, is to be where my feet are. Firmly planted, enjoying each passing moment. In the future I’m not going to identify myself as a human planner, I’m going to be a human BEing.
Wishing you all a year of fantastic moments!
