Hockey, hockey and more HOCKEY!

The 2011 LBMAO Hockey Challenge provided lots of ice time for the participants...probably too much! With only 8 teams and lots of ice time available, all teams played at least 4 games with the majority on Saturday. The winning team in the Competitive Division for the second year was OAS/CGC. The Sauder Slammers were runners-up and the MVP was Andrew McBride from OAS/CGC.

	The Recreational division winning team was CanWelBroadleaf!
	And the runner-up was Pastway Planing!

The MVP for this division was Jamie McKee from CanWelBroadleaf. Rick Shand of Pastway Planing was the lucky winner of the 50/50 draw.

We congratulate the winning teams and MVPs and thank all those who participated. We are also taking into consideration suggestions with regard to making the tournament more of a family affair - providing events around the tournament that would encourage families to attend and enjoy the sportsmanship. The Association is going to look at ways to improve the tournament to attract more fans and players!

A hearty thanks goes to Dwayne from Canlan Ice Sports - Oakville who coordinated and convened the tournament and also to Dave Chestnut, participant and a helpful hand in keeping things running smoothly.
