Canadian Home Improvement Show Summary
 Though numbers were lower than expected, there were events that were well attended and enjoyed by many.Among these was the kick-off event, the Welcome Reception, on the evening of Tuesday the 27th. Popular entertainment such as live piano music and gaming tables provided a great backdrop to relax and get reacquainted with industry peers. The next morning was the 2012 Hardlines Conference, which offered several timely sessions of interest to retailers, such as how to understand economic factors that affect businesses, branding for success and how to manage your company's online marketing profile. Attendees walked  away with concrete solutions and points to put into practice immediately.After a full day at the Conference and Show, delegates gathered for the LBMAO Annual Dinner, which featured a fantastic meal and a touching presentation of this year's LBMAO Industry Achievement Award to a great entrepreneur and community supporter, Paul Sutter of Wiarton Home Building Centre. To top off a great night, all in attendance were then treated to the sweet, sultry sound of an intimate live performance by Colin James. All in all, the new format of the show featuring product demos and education seminars was well-received by attendees. Of course, winning a cash prize for making purchases at the show didn't hurt either! We hope to build on those positive features next year!
