We are saddened to announce that retiring
president Don Sherwood from our sister association on the East Coast,
ABSDA, has passed away suddenly at the age of 70. Don was a kind man
who always brought a smile to your face, and will be greatly missed in
our industry.
His obituary is as follows:
Donald V. Sherwood, 70, of Moncton, passed away on arrival at the Dr.
Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital Centre on Tuesday, December 9,
2014. Born in Fredericton, he was the son of the late William and
Marguerite (Edwards) Sherwood. Don was the President of Atlantic
Building Supply Dealers Association for over 16 years; former
President of St. John Ambulance. Over the years he was heavily
involved in hockey, especially minor hockey, and loved spending time
with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Don will be sadly missed by his wife of over 48 years, Wesla (Cassidy)
Sherwood of Moncton; daughter, Dina Sherwood (Ian MacLeod) of Moncton;
son, Adam Sherwood (Kate) of Milton, ON; cherished grandchildren,
Austin, Emily and Matthew; brother, Ronald Sherwood (Dianne) of
Fredericton; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
