Eric Konecsni, former Vice-President, Operations, was inducted into the Home Hardware Stores Limited Builders’ Circle at a ceremony on May 25.

The Builders’ Circle program was launched in commemoration of Home’s 50th anniversary in 2014 to honour and recognize retired members of the Board of Directors and Corporate Officers of Home Hardware Stores Limited for their past service; those who have made extraordinary contributions to support the success of our Dealer-Owners.

Eric Konecsni, Vice-President, Operations retired on December 31, 2014 after 46 years of service; 32 years with Beaver Lumber and the last 14 years as Vice-President, Operations with Home Hardware Stores Limited. He joined the Home Hardware team in August 1999 with the acquisition of Beaver Lumber. Overseeing the transition of 138 Beaver Lumber stores, he went on to oversee almost 1100 stores under Home’s four banners, as well as the Directors of Retail Operations, Real Estate and Construction, Dealer Development and Dealer Support Services.

"We are proud to pay tribute to the extraordinary contributions of Eric Konecsni, who has played an integral role in building Home Hardware and helping us become, and remain, Canada’s largest independent home improvement retailer. His service and strong contributions were invaluable to our company."  - Terry Davis, CEO, Home Hardware Stores Limited

In recognition of his induction into the Builders’ Circle, Eric received a special, handcrafted gold pin. His name will also be engraved in the Home Hardware Stores Limited Builders’ Circle granite monument located in the Tribute Garden at the Walter J Hachborn Complex in St. Jacobs. He joins fellow 2015 inductees, Jim Schaefer, Sr. of Bradford, Ontario and Brigitte Michel of Sudbury, Ontario who were honoured on their retirement from the Board of Directors at the Annual Shareholders’ meeting this spring.
