Castle Building Centres Group Ltd announced on
October 13th that Stoney Point Hardware Ltd has now opened its doors
to the local community as the newest Castle Building Centres location in Stoney
Point, ON.
"Castle was the pioneer in bringing a
proven hardware solution to Canada. Independents who want a long-term hardware
solution, profitability and the freedom to run their business their way, choose
Castle time and time again. The decision for Stoney Point to join the group is
yet another example of how Castle continues to attract a variety of successful
Independents from competing buying groups." Ken Jenkins, President
Stoney Point Hardware has been part of the
local community since 1949. Founder, Rob Duquette, decided that the small
lakeside town in Southwestern Ontario needed a dedicated hardware store. Rob,
along with his knowledgeable staff, has been serving the growing home
improvement market (including local contractors, DIY and walk-in customers)
ever since. The decision to make the move to Castle was prompted by the need to
be part of a buying group that offered a more extensive and flexible hardware
solution that would address the store’s specific hardware requirements.
"We wanted to be part of a banner that
had an extensive and flexible hardware offering; and one that gives us the
independence to sell the products that are right for our customers and the
Stoney Point market."Rob Duquette, Owner, Stoney Point Hardware Ltd.
Stoney Point Hardware has undergone re-branding
to the community as Castle Building Centres and a grand opening is planned for
next spring.
"Like many Independents today, Stoney
Point Hardware was seeking a buying group that is transparent with no
surprises, offers them freedom of choice and cares about member prosperity.
Stoney Point Hardware wasn’t getting what they needed and Castle had the
solution.Bruce Holman, Business Development Manager, Central Region

CASTLE
ANNOUNCES ANOTHER NEW MEMBER IN ATLANTIC CANADA
Also in October, Burgeo Castle opened its doors
to the local community as the newest Castle Building Centres location in the
picturesque island town of Ramea located southwest of the coast of
Newfoundland.
"Castle continues to welcome diverse,
independent entrepreneurs looking for a buying group that will offer them a
long-term hardware solution, profitability and the freedom to run their
business, their way. The decision for Burgeo Castle to join the group during
this growth stage of their business is an indication that the Castle message is
being heard and that our simple yet highly successful business model is
working." Ken Jenkins, President
Burgeo Castle, a retail store expansion
originally founded back in 1977 by Earl and Mary Walters, has been taken over
by their son, Craig. The business has been an integral part of the Ramea/Burgeo
local community for many years. As with most Newfoundland small businesses, they
began as a general store and over the years have grown and expanded their product
offering. As the new Castle in town, Burgeo Castle will now offer customers the
convenience of being able to purchase a complete line of hardware and building
supplies right on the island.
"I chose Castle because I knew I could
grow this new segment of my market without compromising my existing product
assortment. With Castle I could do what was best for my market and stay
independent." Craig Walters, Owner, Burgeo Castle |
