RONA inc. announces the arrival of six new RONA stores in its network of affiliated dealers across the country: RONA Quincaillerie Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Québec, RONA Manotick and RONA Timmins in Ontario, RONA Lac La Biche and RONA Olds in Alberta, and RONA Agassiz in British Columbia.

“Since we announced our new business positioning, along with a series of new programs last December at Connexia, our annual dealers’ event, 11 stores have chosen to join the network of RONA affiliated dealers to take advantage of its unique and highly competitive positioning,” says Alain Ménard, Senior Vice-President, RONA Affiliated Dealers.

Ménard clearly expressed the company’s ambition to make its network of more than 200 affiliated stores a priority. “Our goal is to become the strongest network of affiliated dealers in Canada. We’ve put in place a new value proposition that is attractive to existing dealers and to future dealers looking to join our network. There’s no doubt in my mind that RONA has all the advantages and benefits to be the partner of choice for hardware independents,” adds Alain Ménard. “I welcome our new dealer owners and congratulate those who are opening or acquiring new stores, but, above all, I thank them for trusting us. Together, we have the strength, the energy, and the means to increase our network’s footprint in Canada and to propel their businesses to new heights.”

Local businesses rely on RONA for growth throughout the country

  • RONA Quincaillerie Saint-Jean-Baptiste (Québec), owned by François Thifault, is coming back to RONA after a short stint with Home Hardware to tap into the banner’s omnichannel capabilities and agile distribution network.
  • RONA Manotick (Ontario) is owned by Joe Reid, Ryan Austin and Pat Butler and is the very first home improvement store to open in town. It will offer 14,000 sq. ft. of retail space with a complete selection of lumber, building materials, paint, plumbing, cabinets, appliances, hardware and seasonal products to meet the renovation and construction needs of the local population. The opening of the store will create 15 new jobs in the region.
  • RONA Timmins (Ontario), owned by Jean and Shannon Gauthier who also own other businesses in the area, is a brand-new store that will open in May to better meet the growing needs of local professionals and DIYers. The store will consolidate the entrepreneurial position of the owners in the Timmins area and create 10 new jobs locally.
  • RONA Lac La Biche (Alberta) is owned by Greg and Valerie Bouchard who decided to make the switch to RONA from Timbermart in order to offer their customers a wider assortment and to have access to the expertise of a strong group as they diversify their current business model and investing in their store, which will now offer over 500 new products to customers.
  • RONA Olds (Alberta) was acquired last January by Garth Dagg and Sheldon Foss who chose to join RONA. With this new partnership, the duo will be able to invest over $1M to expand their retail space from 10,000 sq. ft. to 16,000 sq. ft. The new space will allow them to take full advantage of RONA’s expanded offering to better serve local contractors and homeowners.
  • RONA Agassiz (British Columbia) is a family affair owned by Paul and Rose Tebrinke and their son, Shaun. Formerly operated under the Ace banner, the store is making a comeback to RONA as part of the family’s expansion plan for the business, which now features a 6,000 sq. ft. retail space, along with a 5,000 sq. ft. indoor lumber yard and a 98,000 sq. ft. outdoor lumber yard. The owners will also enhance their current offering with a selection of appliances, seasonal products, and an extensive assortment of fashion plumbing.
