Another great year for the annual LBMAO Golf Tour wrapped up at the Cardinal Golf Club in Newmarket on September 28. Although it was a challenging day with rain showers, we did get to play a full nine holes. Due to this, dinner and awards were over by 6 p.m. The drawing was held for the $2,000 travel voucher and the lucky winner was Larry Stewart from Profitmaster Canada. Congratulations, Larry. We hope you enjoy a wonderful getaway to a destination of your choice.
Russ Barfitt, our director in the Toronto District and key organizer for the tournament, will be stepping down this year after 14 years of service to the Association and the industry. We thank Russ for his dedication and support.
Attendance at the eight tournaments was generally up with an average of 100 golfers per tournament. The Northern tournament is always well attended but it is time for a change of venue so watch for more information. The weather, for the most part, was favourable and we did not have to cancel any tournaments this year. In fact, it was a pleasant year for golf with the courses being in exceptional condition. The annual golf tournaments are a staple social event for this industry and we look forward to organizing the 2011 tour.
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the LBMAO, we thank all of the participants, hole sponsors and those of you who contributed prizes. We especially thank Trent Timber Treating Ltd. and Ram Forest Products Inc. for their generous support as the Tour Sponsor. See you next year!
