Weiser takes its leading lockset technology on the road
MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – Weiser is gearing up to hit the highway this spring and summer with a travelling road show that will give consumers the opportunity to have fun while they learn more about the company’s ground-breaking security technology through hands-on product demonstrations.
"This is the second year we’ve done the Smart Security Tour in Canada and we've added three more provinces for 2013," says Mark Wallace, Senior Group Marketing Manager. "Last year's tour was such a success in educating Canadians about home security and with the additional stops, the 2013 tour promises to be bigger and better."
The Weiser Smart Security Tour will make stops at 77 events and home improvement retailers in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Southern Ontario and Quebec from May 1st to September 28th, 2013. A 56-foot Weiser demonstration trailer will function as a mobile showroom, where product experts will demonstrate the innovation behind Weiser’s fashionable locksets.
Weiser’s SmartCode electronic locks, which utilize a numeric keypad that triggers a deadbolt, and Key Control Deadbolt technology — a two-cylinder alternative to a master keying — will also be featured during the 2013 Smart Security Tour.
Weiser will be giving away a SmartCode at each event, as well as one (1) Grand Prize available to be won over the course of the Smart Security Tour consisting of a 2011 1200CC Sportster Harley Davidson motorcycle (approximate retail value of the Grand Prize is $30,000.00 CDN). To take part in the contest, visitors can enter by either "Liking" Weiser on Facebook, or by attending one of the tour events and filling out a paper ballot.
Weiser experts will use fun, interactive displays to help visitors fully understand the benefits of the industry-changing SmartKey technology, which allows homeowners to re-key their own locks quickly and easily in a matter of seconds without removing the lockset from the door.
Homeowners can use the industry-changing innovation, available in all Weiser locksets, to re-key locks if they have lost, stolen or unreturned keys, recently moved, want to use a single key for all Weiser locks or recently remodeled or upgraded their doors.
"We’ve made huge technological advances in home security in recent years without making our locksets more complicated to use. This tour will help us educate consumers by giving them the knowledge to improve their home security," Wallace said.
For this year's Smart Security Tour — and just in time for daffodil month — Weiser has teamed up with The Canadian Cancer Society and will be accepting donations at each of its stops. To commemorate the Canadian Cancer Society's 75th Anniversary, Weiser has promised to match up to $5,000 of donations. Weiser will also donate a portion of the proceeds from every Weiser product sold at each of the 75 events, all of which will go directly towards lifesaving cancer research. "We are delighted to partner with Weiser on its Smart Security Tour across Canada," said Scott Fairbairn, Director of Corporate Development for Canadian Cancer Society. "Through the support of valued corporate donors like Weiser, the Canadian Cancer Society continues to have more impact, against more cancers, in more communities, than any other cancer charity in Canada."
