TIMBER MART Virtual Show Achieves Great Success with Record Attendance
With over 1,600 dealer and vendor participants in attendance, TIMBER MART’s Virtual Buying Show, which took place from February 8 to 11, achieved great success with record attendance this year. The show hosted hundreds of TIMBER MART members from across the country and a wide range of building material and hardlines vendors who saw over 50,000 dealer booth visits throughout the event.
“Our virtual show was a great success in terms of attendance, sales and the high level of engagement we saw from our members and vendor community who fully embraced the virtual environment,” says Bernie Owens, TIMBER MART president and CEO. “Based on the positive feedback we’ve received from our members and vendors, we achieved what we believe was the best virtual tradeshow our industry has ever seen.”
TIMBER MART members live chatted, downloaded brochures, watched promotional videos and took advantage of show specials at vendors’ booths. TIMBER MART’s show floor featured a virtual Store on the Floor where vendors presented a wide range of SKUs and store-planning ideas for TIMBER MART members to explore for in-store use, as well as a TIMBER MART area that showcased all of the group’s offerings, including: marketing programs and support, TIMBER MART’s LBM distribution centres, TIMBER MART Essentials programs, lumber trading and procurement.
The virtual show also featured an awards gallery where attendees could leave congratulatory messages for winners of the group’s annual vendor and dealer awards. Throughout the day, the show’s Moments photo gallery was also available for attendees to watch photo slideshows of previous TIMBER MART events including golf tournaments, conventions and buying shows.
In the evenings from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. EST, the show’s virtual networking lounge opened where hundreds of attendees engaged in live chat and video conferencing over their favourite cocktail or one of the two TIMBER MART show cocktails curated by Grey Goose ambassador, Stephanie Lamb.
The TIMBER MART Virtual Buying Show was hosted on a cloud-based virtual tradeshow platform and was assisted by IQ Business Events.
