Having served on the council board for a few years now, I know that this will be a very busy time. It is the role of the Construction Education Council to address current and relevant industry issues through a number of different educational platforms. To address some of these issues in 2018, CEC will launch more than 20 new one-day education programs through the National Seminar Series, a revamped Supervisory program will be launched in January, a construction law webinar series will be offered by Dan Leduc throughout the winter months, the 5th annual Student Chapter Summit will take place at the end of January and work will begin on a fall education conference. Also, I’m excited to share with you that an announcement regarding a partnership with MCAC’s Associate Council members and CEC will be forthcoming in the new year regarding a new scholarship opportunity.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the CEC committee volunteers for all their hard work this year, as well as the MCA managers and the national staff at MCAC Canada for all their support. Next year should prove to be even more interesting. I wish you all the best for the Christmas holidays and truly hope you have a successful and prosperous new year!
