Mina received scholarships from sponsors WiMC/MCA Hamilton Niagara, Uponor and the MCAC Associates. She is a student at the British Columbia Institute of Technology and is doing her Masters of Engineering in Building Science.
"One of the challenges I face every day (and for as long as I can remember) is the minor representation of women both in engineering and in the construction industry and the types of expectations/stereotypes that come with being a woman," she says. “I believe that through improving myself and by climbing the ladder of knowledge, experiences and respect, I can do my part for a future of equality among all genders in engineering and construction.”
Mina works as an estimator at MCAC member company Davidson Bros. Mechanical.
