“At MCAC, we know how important it is to support the next generation of leaders and employees for this important industry,” said Tania Johnston, chief executive officer of MCAC. “Once again, this year we received a record number of applicants for this great program. We are so proud to offer these scholarships across Canada, and [we’re] extremely grateful for the firms who have stepped up to provide support.”
The Richard McKeagan Scholarship Series, named in honour of past CEO Richard McKeagan, is supported by MCAC associate members and MCA partners from across Canada who provide funding for the program and the various scholarships offered. Since its launch in 2006, the scholarship series has awarded close to $70,000 to deserving post-secondary students.
The program is aimed at students in the mechanical field of study and has been broadened to include several new initiatives, including scholarships specifically for women in the mechanical field. This is in addition to the several scholarships available for financial assistance in the mechanical field of study.
This year, scholarships were available through the following MCAC associate members and MCA partners: Bradford White Canada, Federated Insurance, Masco/Delta, MCA Hamilton-Niagara, OS&B, Reliance Worldwide, Uponor, the Women in Mechanical Construction initiative and the broader associate membership of MCAC, which funds a single MCAC Associate Member Scholarship.
MCA Canada will be highlighting the recipients of the 2021 Richard McKeagan Scholarship Series in the coming weeks!
