ANNUAL NATIONAL CONFERENCE
The Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada is pleased to be holding its 81st Annual National Conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia from September 28 – October 1, 2022!

MCAC celebrates individuals and firms who have contributed greatly to the success of the Association and the mechanical contracting sector of the Canadian construction industry. Awards are generally given out at the MCAC Annual National Conference. The Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada is pleased to publish an updated Change Order Protocol, following a request from provincial and zone MCAs to provide the industry with an updated guide. It should also be noted that this Change Order Protocol is to serve as a guide, and that the terms and conditions of a contract take precedence. As well, while this guide does contain lists of items to be considered in pricing a change, these lists are not exhaustive and should not be exclusively relied upon. Click here to download the guide. With the announcement of a Canada Green Buildings Strategy from the federal government, MCA Canada, together with our partners, the Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating, have been actively engaged in meetings with federal departments to discuss the important role the mechanical contracting sector will play with respect to any green building or net-zero strategies moving forward. In response to the meetings held with stakeholder organizations such as MCA Canada, Natural Resources Canada has released a discussion paper on the Canada Green Buildings Strategy, and is inviting feedback from industry to help shape the policy. There is a recognition from all stakeholders that industry and government collaboration will be essential, and MCA Canada is encouraging members to provide feedback on this discussion paper. Registration is currently open for both upcoming conferences, October 12–14 in Indianapolis, IN and November 2–4 in Kansas City, MO. This year, our association and our valued partners will award over $25,000 in scholarships to students studying in the mechanical contracting and mechanical engineering fields.
