On the occasion of the MCA Ontario AGM, MCAC CEO Tania Johnston had the honour of presenting MCA Canada’s year-end report to all attending members. The AGM was held at the Lord Elgin Hotel in Ottawa on August 18.
During her address, Johnston thanked Executive and Board Members Dave Holek, Charlie Webb, Joe Givens, Serge Robert, Eric Niemi, and Frank Turano for their time and input into committee meetings, advocacy work, and day to day support of the mechanical contracting industry.
On August 16, current Secretary and Treasurer of MCAC David Holek was celebrated for his two-year term as President and Chair of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada. Dave’s tenure as Chair was certainly unique and was re-elected for a second term in December of 2020 to continue in the role for an additional year. However, even with a second term, Dave’s first in-person speech didn’t come until September 2021 at our annual golf tournament. Dave is often fond of saying, "every day is an adventure.” So, it seems only fitting that his tenure as Chair can be described as an adventurous one. His dedication to this industry is so valuable, as well as his understanding of the various challenges being faced at the local, provincial, and national level. On behalf of MCA Canada, the Board, and members across Canada, thank you for your commitment to MCAC, and all our best in your many more adventures to come!
MCAC celebrates individuals and firms who have contributed greatly to the success of the Association and the mechanical contracting sector of the Canadian construction industry. Awards can be submitted throughout the year.
We are pleased to announce that we have extended the deadline for applications for the 2022 Richard McKeagan Scholarship Series to August 27.
This year, our association and our valued partners will award over $25,000 in scholarships to students studying in the mechanical contracting and mechanical engineering fields. Did you also know that we have scholarships open to a wide range of students and apprentices, including women and Indigenous people?
There's never been a better time than now to share this great news — and this great program — with your colleagues and employees.
MCA Canada would like to recognize all the Associate Members as supporters of the scholarship series. What a great way to support new apprentices and students entering the mechanical industry!
