ANNUAL NATIONAL CONFERENCE

What a fantastic event!

In total, close to 250 delegates from Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union joined MCA Canada in Halifax this year for our Annual National Conference. We had a fantastic time reconnecting with members from across the country, and we can’t wait to do it all again in Napa, California from October 18 to 21, 2023!

Be sure to save the date, and stay tuned for updates on next year’s exciting event!

At this year’s annual national conference in Halifax, MCA Canada recognized four outstanding individuals for their contributions to the mechanical contracting sector, and the Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada.

The following awards and individuals were celebrated throughout the event:

  • Doug Crawford Memorial Award – Recognizing Outstanding contributions to MCA Canada and to the MCAC Associate Membership: Brent Cornelissen, OS&B
  • Gary Greig Memorial Award – Celebrating ongoing and continued support for the success of the MCAC Annual National Conference: Mike Miller, Taco Comfort Solutions
  • Lloyd MacLean Memorial Award – Presented to an individual for unselfishly giving to the national association: Steve Coleman, MCA Ontario
  • Life Membership Award – Conferred upon any individual who, upon retirement or otherwise, is recognized by the Association for his/her contribution to the work of the association: Gaetan Beaulieu, Past MCAC President, Beaulieu Plumbing and Mechanical

At its Annual National Conference being in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada and its provincial partners announced more than $100,000 to Hurricane Fiona Relief through the Canadian Red Cross.

"Extreme weather events such as Hurricane Fiona will have a significant impact on our infrastructure and those affected for years to come," said Wayne Davidson, President, and Chair of MCA Canada. "Our industry has stepped up in the past to help our fellow Canadians, and it was particularly important to us as we hold our annual conference in the maritime region."

The Canadian Red Cross has established an online portal for MCA Canada members who would like to donate to the Hurricane Fiona Relief Fund. Through that portal, individuals and firms can make a contribution to this fund and support these funding efforts.

Donations through the Red Cross can be made online here.
