INDUSTRY HIGHLIGHTS
Earlier this summer, Inspection and Technical Services Manitoba announced the Adoption of the B149 2020 Gas Codes. The 2020 editions of the following Gas Codes came into effect in Manitoba, September 1, 2022.
• CSA B149.1 - Natual gas and propane installation code
• CSA B149.2 - Propane storage and handling code
• CSA B149.3 - Code for the field approval of fuel-burning appliances and equipment
Inspection and Technical Services Manitoba has announced the Adoption of the B139 Series: 19-Installation Code for Oil-Burning Equipment (Oil Code). The adoption of the code came into effect September 1, 2022, without amendments.
August 29 marked an important date for the Alberta Construction Industry. Prompt Payment Legislation was officially enacted providing trade contractors the security of a regime outlining timely payment and options for dispute resolution.
MCAM IN ACTION
We are pleased to welcome two new team members, serving both MCAM and ECAM. In August, Sara Kirby began working as the Office and Board Administrative Coordinator. Alyssa Jonasson started this week in the role of Events and Communication Coordinator. The synergy of the associations is working to serve the demands of the industry through shared resources and the expertise of the new staff.

MCAM is pleased to share; Garth Evans has accepted the nomination as MCAM 2022 Pioneer Inductee. A Pioneer is a person who has made a significant contribution to the Mechanical Industry by demonstrating actions characteristic of a Pioneer - innovator, inventor, forerunner, developer or creator.
