Be Sure to Try Out the Networking Events

Have you been joining our networking events? “The Grip networking platform, the Innovation Chats and the Roundtables following the keynote presentations have been a great way to bring that face-to-face energy to that ProMat digital experience this week,” said Randell Mauricio, our ProMatDX daily recap host.

Collaboration and networking are key aspects of the MHI ProMat and MODEX tradeshows, and while the platform is digital this year and the opportunities a bit different, they are still there. Randy V. Bradley, associate professor of information systems and supply chain management at Haslam College of Business, The University of Tennessee, said that following other shows, the feedback has been that “a lot of times the reason people keep coming back is for the collaboration, the engagement, the ability to connect with new people and reconnect with people we’ve known for some time.” And, even though ProMat has moved to a digital format this year, “I love that we’ve done everything possible to maintain those social activities” and that attendees are still able to engage and to interact with others.

The daily video recap includes some highlights from today’s keynote, Women in Supply Chain: Delivering Proven Success Strategies, for those who want to “be inspired by a panel of women supply chain thought-leaders,” said Mauricio. The full video and summary of the keynote is available in this newsletter, as well.

Also part of the daily recap video are some Sponsor Showcases, including one from Kindrid AI, which has recently undergone a game-changing acquisition from Ocado. Marin Tchakarov, CEO of Kindred AI, Ocado Solutions, said their SORT robot is 99% autonomous and can see items separate and district from one another. “It provides tremendous value from day one, from minute one, really,” he said.

Tracy Niehaus, director of marketing, Honeywell Intelligrated, was excited to talk about some of the features of a just released addition to their Momentum software suite. “This year at ProMat we were able to introduce a newest addition to that software ecosystem: Momentum warehouse execution system (WMS),” said Neihaus. While its list of attributes is lengthy, the fact that it is highly-configurable and doesn’t require custom coding, really stood out.

Patty Katsaros, director of marketing and growth at Waypoint Robotics Inc., shared some details about a cobot arm that can be added onto their autonomous mobile robot. She said it is extremely easy to use and deploy. “We are always trying to make automation accessible.” Plus, it can move in any direction and get into small spaces.

Tomorrow is our final day, but “don’t think we are slowing down over here,” said Mauricio. “We have saved some of the best education sessions for tomorrow!”
