If there is any day that can top Day 1 at MODEX, it is Day 2. Today, there are so many options and so many opportunities. It is the perfect day to explore the expo floors, talk to the vendors and, when resting your feet, take in a couple of the education sessions. In addition, today we have Tan Le getting us all off on right foot with her 8:45 AM keynote about The Neurogeneration - The Future Is Closer Than You Think. So, make sure your walking shoes are on, you have a fresh pack of business cards, an old-fashioned or digital notebook and an open mind! Also, don't forget about the Expo Guide, which was created to help you customize your time at MODEX so your days are geared to what is most important to you. For those of you who cannot attend due to COVID-19, we want to let you know that you can still engage with MODEX exhibitors digitally during the show. The MODEX app, www.modexshow.com/app, can connect you with exhibitors easily. Plus, we will be posting every show floor seminar held at MODEX as a podcast Monday-Thursday of this week as the sessions occur at https://videos.mhi.org/category/mhi-cast. Whether you are here or afar, let us connect you with the supply chain possibilities that MODEX offers! Conference News

The Neurogeneration – The Future Is Closer than You Think
The world we’re about to step into will be unlike anything that has been seen before. Technology is transforming the ways we work, live and think. The advances that are on the near horizon offer us ways of integrating humans and machines. The hybrids that result will combine the analytical processing powers of computers with the creativity that is uniquely human, becoming something much more than the sum of their parts. The fundamental technologies are already in place and it is only a matter of time before machine learning, portable processing power, and brainwear tech are developed and integrated enough to make this reality possible. Join CEO of EMOTIV Tan Le as she discusses how automation and AI are not competitors to humans, but are part of an extended, augmented human organism and how that could impact supply chains.
There will be a lot of opportunity in these keynote sessions to share quotes, insights and tidbits from the presentations on Twitter. We recommend you follow the MODEX keynote speakers on Twitter before the event. This way, when you quote a speaker or share a photo from their session, you can easily mention their twitter handle in your tweet. We’ve gathered the Twitter accounts from each speaker below for your convenience. Follow away!

From connecting the dots to telling the truth to pinpointing the number one issue for businesses today, Nikki Haley, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations (2017 – 2019), supplied some riveting answers and examples to the questions posed during her keynote address held on Monday morning. Her guidance not only involved specific examples related to her time as governor of South Carolina and as an ambassador, but also to her regional and international business experience—which was especially applicable for the crowd at her MODEX keynote.
More and more people are interested in robots, but successfully incorporating them requires more than just making the purchase. What else other than the robots do you need to consider to have a successful incorporation of robots? This was the key question by moderator Matt Kulp of St. Onge Company in the session, “Warehouse Automation: Beyond the Robot” in the Emerging Technology Theater.
“People are uneasy… The supply chain is so complex and so deep and long, and it takes a long time to wind it back up.” This cause for uneasiness? The coronavirus. Bob Klunk of Project Verte addressed the elephant in the room right off the bat at the “State of the Transportation & Logistics Industry” education session in the Transportation & Logistics Theater on Monday. Fellow panelist Wendy Topp of Glideaway concurred, admitting that “we are going to be scrambling. The cononavirus is getting ready to hit us pretty hard.” But even as they shared their thoughts, you could see the resolve on their faces as they contemplated the best solutions.
