“This year we’ve moved from the evolution stage to the revolution stage,” said John Paxton, CEO of MHI, the association sponsoring MODEX 2022, about where the industry is right now and as an introduction to the great reveal of MHI’s 2022 Annual Industry Report: Evolution to Revolution on Wednesday at MODEX. He said the industry has seen a gradual evolution of the adoption of technologies, and “each year we see a little more.” The report delves into the innovations that are revolutionizing supply chain investments amid ongoing disruption and puts the mountains of data into insightful “mounds” of statistical perspectives and percentages.
During the keynote on Wednesday morning at MODEX 2022, Thomas Boykin of Deloitte joined John Paxton, CEO of MHI, to present the findings of the 2022 report that details the innovations that are revolutionizing supply chain investments amid ongoing disruption. They were joined by a panel of manufacturing and supply chain professionals to discuss the real-world significance of the report findings. Panelists included:
—Terry Esper, Associate Professor of Logistics, Fisher College of Business, The Ohio State University
—Adrian Kumar, VP & Global Head of Operations Science and Analytics, DHL Supply Chain
—Jason Minghini, Group Vice President Operations, Kenco
—Torsten Pilz, Senior Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer, Honeywell
The hour that Shaquille O’Neal spent on the stage in the Thomas Murphy Ballroom at MODEX 2022 didn’t seem near long enough. It was a conversation that could have gone on for hours―and you would still want to hear more. His stories were inspirational on a deep level, funnier than what you would expect from someone with a doctorate in education, touching and insightful. He even belted out some song lyrics, which was probably one of the last things attendees expected to hear during his keynote. But, the overarching current behind many of the questions posed to him by moderator Mitch MacDonald had to do with family, his strong ties with them and their influence on the person he is today.
The 2022 MHI Innovation Award winners were revealed during Industry Night. More than 120 submissions were received this year! The four finalists in each category were announced prior to the opening of the show, but the winners of the most innovative products in each category were not revealed until Wednesday during MHI Industry Night. Be sure to swing by their booths before leaving today!
