February’s book club was also unique in that it was the first time that MPISCC did not have a guest speaker as a part of the discussion. This gave us all an opportunity to really think about the subject matter and discuss concepts in depth. The group started together in the main Zoom room, but we quickly broke off into smaller discussion groups of five or six people each. Breakout rooms were titled LEARN, GATHER, INSPIRE, CONNECT and RELEASE to give attendees an idea of what would be discussed in each space, and each room was moderated by an MPISCC member. In each room, we had the chance to meet new contacts, chat with old friends and share our perspectives on the themes of the book. The discussion was great and even evolved into other concepts!
Breakout room discussions lasted about 15 to 20 minutes, after which we returned to the main room for a brief wrap up and “release.” Overall, this was another great evening of networking, learning and connection for MPISCC, and the organizers did a wonderful job of putting it together. If you missed this book club, make sure you join us for the next one!
