MPISCC: Tell us about YOU!
LPG: I grew up in New Jersey (just minutes from NYC) and moved to SoCal in 2006 for what was only supposed to be one year; I ended up staying for 15 years! After I lost my job due to COVID, I was offered a position at Enchantment Resort in Arizona, so even though I no longer live in SoCal, it is still my territory, so I get to return often enough to get my beach fix!
I hit the jackpot by marrying a chef — not only is he cute but I eat very well!
I love working out, particularly spinning and hiking and just being outdoors as much as possible.
MPISCC: Can you share a few fun things about you?
LPG: I am a live music fanatic! I LOVE concerts and the feeling in your chest when the bass drum first hits! I’ve been super happy that concerts are slowly returning. I also played piano for nine years as a kid and during COVID picked it up again! I’m not as good as I was, but I’m getting there.
MPISCC: How did you become involved with the MPI and the Southern California Chapter? What has encouraged you to stay involved?
LPG: I knew that I needed an organization of like-minded individuals to help me be successful in my role; MPI answered that call! Although I’m not around as often, one of my favorite things is volunteering at the registration desk at events as it allows me to say hi to everyone!
MPISCC: What are your proudest moments or accomplishments?
LPG: Professionally, when working for Fairmont, I was named a “Fairmont Master” three times in four years, achieving over 125% of my annual goals. Once hitting it a third time, you are named to the Fairmont President’s Club, which was a huge accomplishment. Another amazing accomplishment was winning the Louis K. Hauser Service Award (with my dear friend Natalie Fulton!) in 2018! To be noticed for my hard work on the annual fundraising event was an honor.
MPISCC: What advice would you share with new members about getting the most out of their membership?
LPG: Everyone always says to get involved, and that is 100% true! But sometimes our jobs and personal lives take a lot out of us. When that is the case, try to show up early and chat up the board and just show that you appreciate their work and dedication to the chapter. Getting to know the board always goes a long way!
