Dear MPI Toronto Chapter Members,

I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. As President, I am immensely grateful for the unwavering support and active participation you all bring to our chapter. Your involvement is the cornerstone of our success and growth, and it's my pleasure to share some exciting updates and insights in this edition of our newsletter.

A special note of appreciation goes to our Professional Development Committee for their exceptional work in organizing the November Session on CSR, Sustainability, and Accessibility. This session set a new benchmark for excellence, enriching our understanding and highlighting the importance of these crucial areas in our industry.

I am also thrilled to acknowledge the astounding success of our Winter Social. This remarkable event could not have been possible without the dedication of our co-chairs, the tireless efforts of volunteers, the generosity of our sponsors and the presence of over 300 attendees. Together, you turned a vision into a vibrant reality, and for this, I am profoundly thankful.

It’s at events like our Winter Social where we see the strength of our community in action, raising funds for the Women’s College Hospital Foundation. We were also pleased to participate in a national educational session on the realities of human trafficking in our own backyard, raising awareness about this critical issue. Recognizing and addressing such societal challenges is integral to our commitment as a chapter and both of these events demonstrate our Chapter's commitment to this social cause.

I'd also like to take a moment to welcome our 51 new members that have joined since the start of this fiscal year and celebrate the achievements of our existing members. Your contributions and accomplishments make our chapter vibrant and diverse.

I encourage each of you to get involved with our chapter's initiatives. Your unique ideas and perspectives are invaluable. Whether it's volunteering for a committee, participating in upcoming events, or contributing to our social causes, your active involvement is key to our collective growth and success.

As we navigate the ever-changing landscape of our industry, your adaptability and innovative spirit are more important than ever. We eagerly anticipate the fresh ideas and energetic contributions that each of you will bring to our upcoming events and initiatives. We encourage you to take an active role by reaching out directly to any members of the board or myself to get involved. As we reflect on our industry's evolution, our social responsibility extends beyond our professional endeavors. Recent events have underscored the need for a renewed commitment to tolerance and understanding. Together, we will continue to forge a path of leadership and excellence in the meetings and events industry.

Once again, I thank you for your dedication and support. The value of our chapter is greatly enhanced by your membership and engagement. Let's continue to work together to create meaningful experiences, professional development opportunities, and make a positive impact in our community.

Warm regards,

Alissa Hurley, CMM, CED
