Tourism Industry Council of Ontario (TICO)

On December 13, 20112 a roundtable session was held with some industry professionals along with the Tourism Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) to uncover and dissect the "grey areas" of the Ontario Travel Industry Act 2002.

The MPI Toronto Chapter Board of Directors is in discussion on how best to support our independent planners in this matter. A town hall meeting will be scheduled for the week of February 21 to outline the response received from TICO and see what needs to be done.

The Business Events Industry Coalition of Canada has also been approached to be involved as their purpose is to be the voice of the industry and they represent a number of industry organizations that could be impacted by TICO.
