EVE – a new addition to the e-newsletter, EVE is a report on EVEnts happening around the city. Our team reporter scouting these events is Sharda Sukdeo, Maritz Canada Inc., who highlights new industry events, restaurants or venues that would be of interest to our membership.

Her April report covers event experiences at CE Centre:

I managed an event at the brand new CE Centre in Ottawa. Just eight weeks old, the Centre is located only five minutes away from the airport and runs like it's been operating for years.

CE Centre is 220,000 square feet of flexible meeting space all on one floor. There are four exhibition halls which all connect, each with their own drive-in door, show office, retail food space and natural light. They can open up to fit 800 theatre style in a column free, Wi-Fi enabled event space.

What goes beyond the exposition halls and the meeting rooms is the service of the staff. Not only was the sales representative present throughout the entire process including onsite delivery, they were actively working with us. During the planning stage, when my F&B budget didn't fit with their pre-defined options, there was no hesitation to create an alternative that would work with my tight budget. All in all, a great experience with fantastic output from start to finish and from every level of the Centre.
