Tourism London Announces the Appointment of Ms. Lynne Gale to Director of Conventions Effective October 15, 2013
Lynne will be based in the GTA - the primary Ontario convention feeder market. In partnership with the London Convention Centre, local hotels and various sponsors, she has been contracted to develop and direct our annual convention marketing plan as well as cultivate qualified sales leads and bid presentations to entice city-wide conventions and multi-day business events to London.

Reilly Security Named as Official Show Security Provider for the Metro Toronto Convention Centre
The Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC) has awarded Reilly Security as their Official Show Security provider contract for the next three years. "We are pleased that after rigorous review, Reilly Security has been chosen as Official Show Security for the MTCC" said Nick Migliore, president of Reilly Security. "We take immense pride in the integrity and professionalism of our team and of our services and are excited to partner with the high caliber MTCC team."

Tourism Industry Encouraged by Throne Speech
David Goldstein, president and CEO of the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC), responded to the government's intention to "promote Canada as a top destination for tourism," as stated in the Speech from the Throne.
 
"Today reaffirms the government's commitment to growing Canada's travel economy. TIAC and our industry partners look forward to working with the government, through the Federal Tourism Strategy, to address the fixable public policy issues currently impeding growth," stated Goldstein.

JPdL Toronto and Niagara DMC Sold to Parent Company
JPdL Multi Management, parent company of the JPdL Destination Management Group, is pleased to announce the outright purchase of its award-winning subsidiary, JPdL Toronto & Niagara, from Grant Snider, DMCP. Grant will be continuing in his current role as president of JPdL Toronto & Niagara until January 24, 2014 to ensure a smooth transition of management responsibilities. Exhibition Place Receives Employer of the Year Award  2013 Annual Fall Employer Conference by JOIN
Exhibition Place was recently awarded the ‘Employer of the Year Award’ by Ontario Job Opportunity Information Network (JOIN) for their commitment to hiring staff from the Spinal Cord Injury of Ontario. The award was presented at the annual Fall Employer Conference lunch and award ceremony held on November 15, 2013 at the Westin Harbour Castle.

Stephanie’s new role involves the GTA association market, as well as managing the corporate team.
