Inspiration comes in all shapes, sizes and forms. We’re inspired everyday by those around. Inspired by TED Talks, YouTube videos, seminars and conferences. With the annual Toronto Education Conference quickly approaching, ask yourself, "is there an opportunity to inspire someone else?"  You don’t need to be the presenter on stage to make a difference in someone’s conference experience.

Say Hi and Connect
Students, young professionals and new members might be attending a conference for the first time. A room full of suppliers and event professionals can be intimidating, especially if you don’t know anyone. If you see someone with the "deer in the headlights" look on their face, introduce yourself and introduce them to others. Make them feel welcome and next year, your act of inclusion will inspire them to pay it forward.

Challenge Others
If you’re attending a conference with a team challenge each other to attend different discussions and sit at separate tables. You’ll grow your network and will benefit from the knowledge of those you are meeting for the first time.

In a seminar, do you have a question or have a similar example? Don’t be afraid to stand up and ask it during the question period. If you want to know the answer, someone else does, too. They’ll be inspired by your openness and ask the next one.

Inspire Others Back Home
Post conference, inspire someone in your office. Plan a coffee chat to share your new ideas, learnings and any other takeaways. Inspire them to join you next year.

With a great line-up of speakers and seminars, you’ll be sure to ignite your spark.

The Toronto Education Conference takes place from June 15-17, 2014 in Niagara Falls.
