Professional Development & Signature Series – October, 20, 2015 – BMO Institute for Learning

On October 20, MPI Toronto welcomed James Spellos to the BMO Institute for Learning. Throughout the morning, James taught those in attendance about the latest in event technology and how to use it. Many walked away that morning with a list of new apps to test out. James even taught us about the importance of not only asking your venue about their bandwidth, but how to test it as well! After all, we all know how important connectivity is at our events these days.

The afternoon kicked-off with some warm apple cider during the networking reception and led into a wonderful lunch full of a delicious assortment of food that included everything from salad to pizza and everything in between!

Following lunch, attendees were divided into 10 teams and had 30 minutes to decorate two cakes. Teams had a plethora of items to choose from to decorate their cakes including fondant, sprinkles, fresh fruit and more! A "sabotage" item – a banana – was thrown in part way through and it was quite interesting to see how each team incorporated the banana into their cake theme and decoration. The talent of our attendees was quite apparent as the cakes were lined up to be judged. Congratulations to team Happy Birds for winning!
