Airship has launched
Airship 37 launched last summer and I have been in attendance at two events at "Toronto's most versatile venue", as their tagline claims. Located south of the Distillery District on Parliament, it's easy to miss were it not for the red carpet which extended to the sidewalk; a welcoming touch to both events.
The venue is essentially two spaces. To the left upon entering is part of the original building with concrete floors and stone walls exuding the history of the area. The other side is a contrast with white walls against the concrete floors.
Both times, the room was set with an oval bar in the middle of the room, lounge seating to the one end and tasting stations around the perimeter. Tasting stations were a feast for the eyes and a treat for the tastebuds as all hors d'oeuvres were scrumptious but not necessarily what you would have for your event as the evening showcased multiple caterers.
Toronto's most versatile venue lives up to its claim as the space inside the hangar (as the white room is called) is an empty box left to the imagination and budget of the planner. Another imaginative challenge for the ladies is where to put your purse while using the facilities as many of the stalls were missing the little hooks on the back of the door. An easy fix and something to look for during the site inspection.
