MPI Connects

On January 24th MPI Toronto Chapter started a new informal gathering of industry professionals with MPI CONNECTS.

The day began with 12 planners and suppliers from various sectors of our industry enjoying their brown bag breakfast at the KPMG offices in downtown Toronto.  Some of the topics that were discussed were:
  1. Contract Negotiating
  2. Industry Trends
  3. Technology for Events – Marketing tactics to increase attendance
  4. Prospecting
The two afternoon Connects took place at Milestones on Dixon Road in the Toronto Airport Area and at Peller Estates for our Niagara Members.

From 4pm – 6pm at Milestones approximately 20 members including planners, students and suppliers enjoyed a very casual atmosphere, some appetizers (sponsored by Milestones) and great conversation.  The most interesting conversations were about

  1. Is high tech an advantage or disadvantage?
  2. Trends
  3. Certification - is it going to be required?
  4. Solicitation
  5. Sales Process
  6. 2012 What are we doing differently?
Everyone contributed to the conversations with great enthusiasm.

With the beautiful setting of Peller Estates, they were off to a great start. Unfortunately, the attendance was not record breaking, however, with the celebrity guest appearance the night was a great success.
