NAFA's Chapter Appreciation Luncheon had extra meaning this year as the Association continues to celebrate its 60th anniversary. But as always, this event was also a terrific way to share ideas with chapter peers and colleagues!
Kicking things off, NAFA Vice President Jeffrey Jeter said, "It was at a conference not unlike this one in 1957 – the Society of Automobile Engineers – where the people who would become NAFA’s founders first proposed the idea for this association. I imagine at that moment they couldn’t have imagined what we’d become – an organization that spans North America, has connections with South America, and all around the world, and has a vibrant community of fleet professionals."
To further illustrate the breadth of this community, Jeter and I&E Arrangements Committee Chair, Sara Burnam, CAFM®, led the chapter roll call in rousing fashion.
After awarding NAFA's 2017 Outstanding Chapter Service Awards* to Pete Mitchell of the Philadelphia Chapter and Sister Mary Daniel of the Wisconsin Chapter, NAFA President Bryan Flansburg, CAFM®, started the audience reminiscing about NAFA's 60 years as well as attendees' own fond memories of the Association. Concluding, Flansburg and Jeter offered a toast to NAFA's next 60 years.
