One of the highlights of NAFA’s annual conference each year is the Chapter Appreciation Luncheon. It’s a time to relax, network with colleagues, and have fun with fellow fleet professionals within their NAFA Chapter. It’s also a time in which NAFA highlights the work of one NAFA Regular Member and one Associate Member for their tremendous efforts in supporting their local chapter. NAFA's Outstanding Chapter Service Award honors an exceptional commitment to the Association's chapters.
To be selected for this award, an individual must be nominated in writing by their Chapter Board or a NAFA Director. NAFA's 2017 Outstanding Chapter Service Awards were presented to Pete Mitchell of the Philadelphia Chapter and Sister Mary Daniel of the Wisconsin Chapter, who was unable to attend this year.
Mitchell has served as Co-Secretary of the Chapter for the last 4 or more years, has chaired the chapter’s Nomination Committee since 2009 and has been on the Philadelphia Chapter Board of Directors for 20+ years.
Having recently taken the role of the Philadelphia Chapter Treasurer, Mitchell was lauded for the relationships he's helped foster over his time with the Chapter.
Honoring Sister Mary Daniel, it was noted she has over 30 years of membership service and has demonstrated her commitment and dedication to the Wisconsin Chapter as Treasurer and Secretary.
(Sister Mary) freely shares her knowledge with both new and seasoned members of NAFA, and is the epitome of a true professional, and the bedrock of what makes NAFA special. She is focused and scrupulous when it comes to our chapter reports and audits. With her in charge, these are always rendered accurately and on time.
Which is not to say that Sister Mary can't have fun. She is a fixture at our chapter’s annual golf outing, volunteering time where needed to help make each year's event a success. The Wisconsin Chapter would not be what it is today had it not been for her commitment to NAFA. A role model, mentor, and friend to everyone she's met over many years in the organization. Larissa Clinard, CAFM®, Vice Chair of the Wisconsin Chapter, accepted for Sister Mary, who was unable to attend.
Congratulations Pete Mitchell and Sister Mary Daniel for the good work you do for NAFA's Chapters! For more about the Chapter Appreciation Luncheon and other events from the 2017 I&E, check out NAFAConnection, as well as the official conference wrap-up issue of FLEETSolutions, coming soon.
