During the Annual Business Meeting on Tuesday morning, NAFA President Bryan Flansburg, CAFM®, honored Immediate Past President Ruth Alfson, CAFM, Fleet Manager/DOT Compliance - Fleet Management for Serco Group, with NAFA’s Distinguished Service Award. It is the Association's highest form of recognition.
"It’s something we give out sparingly, usually only when the mere mention of the person’s name makes it clear they deserve the award," Flansburg said. "That is certainly the case this year."
Alfson has been an active NAFA member for over 20 years, serving as a Chapter officer and as a member and/or Chair of every educational committee on NAFA's national level. She has been a tireless champion of and contributor to NAFA's educational products and programs.
As a long-time instructor for NAFA's seminars, boot camps, and educational offerings, her wealth of knowledge in the fleet industry has been a valuable resource to writing NAFA's guides and printed resources.
Alfson has served on the Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors for 14 years and is a prior recipient of NAFA's Excellence in Education award.
Thank you, Ruth Alfson, for your efforts and dedication to NAFA!
