You can attend the I&E Expo floor and help out people in need. How? By "Bridging."

Bridging, a nonprofit organization serving the greater Twin Cities, is the largest furniture bank in North America. Through the effective reuse of donated items, the organization improves lives by providing quality furniture and household goods to those transitioning out of homelessness and poverty, and they will be available at an Expo booth to take donations that further their good work.

A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the greater Twin Cities, Bridging is the largest furniture bank in North America. Providing furniture and household goods to families and individuals transitioning out of homelessness and poverty, the organization gives hope–and for many–a leap toward financial stability for the first time. Bridging is driven by volunteers and donations of furniture and household goods from the community. Since 1987, the organization has furnished over 60,000 homes, and every year, reduces landfill space by 7 to 10 million pounds.

There are many ways you can help. You can bring donation items with you to I&E, or purchase them in Minneapolis, and then donate. Or you can make a donation of cash or by credit card. Donors will get a receipt form letter acknowledging your gift.

Items of need include:
  • Pillows
  • Towels
  • Kitchen bundles with utensils like can openers, mixing spoons, spatulas, ladles, whisks, and peelers
